Description : One of the few restaurants in London where a reservation is recommended on a Monday evening, this urbane modern Italian remains ‘brilliant for business entertaining’ on account of its food, ambience & fair pricing. Starters such as tuna tartare & broad beans with shiso dressing emphasise light simplicity, though the porcine muskiness of a porchetta (roast suckling pig) carpaccio has also impressed; mains might include tempura battered sole & vegetables tossed in salt & pepper with chilli mayonnaise or, for something more traditional, roasted saddle of rabbit with ratatouille. Generous portions means that indulging in the full four courses is unlikely & we’d recommend opting for a homemade pasta such as al dente tortelloni filled with asparagus & ricotta instead of choosing from the desserts, which are pleasant, if dull. Presentation is a forte throughout, from food to the pouring of wine & of the dining room itself, an elegantly decorated oblong space.
